If you are experiencing a problem with your metal detector, do NOT be tempted to "Have a go" your self, or let that "mate" who knows "something about electronics and can solder" do so either. I have seen more detectors than I care to mention damaged beyond repair by amateurs.

ALL my repairs are carried out using components which equal, or EXCEED original manufacturers specifications. Your metal detector probably has parts inside it which are up to TEN YEARS OLD! Most are now obsolete, and with the advances made in electronics, newer, BETTER parts are NOW available. Chances are , your detector manufacturer STILL uses stocks of old components which may have deteriorated with age, even in a new machine! The repairs are carried out by me (MSc in Electronics engineering) thus giving you the confidence that a PROFESSIONAL has repaired your machine, and that it is now as good as, if not BETTER (see testimonials) than it was when new.

Why have it repaired to "factory" standards when you can have it repaired to Pulsar Standards?

PLEASE contact me by PHONE or E-MAIL first to discuss the symptoms. If you prefer, you may send your detector, properly addressed with your Name, Address, & Phone Number and a description of the symptoms, to the address on my "Contact Us" page.

If you own an older detector then please contact us before sending the unit to Pulsar Electronics. It is not always possible to obtain parts for older machines.

Please allow adequate time for me to examine your Detector. As soon as I have done so I will contact you. Repairs normally take 7 - 10 working days from the time I receive it. I will provide you with an accurate estimate BEFORE I start work. If the work appears as though it will ultimately exceed my original estimate, I promise to contact you for permission to proceed with the repair.

DO NOT send complete detectors! Only the control box and Search-coil (with cable) are required for me to effect most repairs. Note; some detectors have the control box permanently fixed to the stem. In this case you must, of course, send the complete detector. In either case, pack the machine WELL in "scrunched up" newspaper (IF YOU USE ANY POLYSTYRENE AT ALL, AN EXTRA INSTANT CHARGE OF £25 WILL BE INCURRED FOR ENVIRONMENTAL DISPOSAL OF THIS CRIMINAL MATERIAL) and insure it for the trip to my service centre.

If you wish to be informed whether or not your detector has reached me, please send by carrier or recorded/registered post. You will be given a "Proof of posting slip" which will have a number to call so you can easily check on the status of the delivery. PLEASE do NOT call me, to check it has arrived as this takes me time to track your detector down in the many that I see each day, and MAY delay the repair of your detector.

Return shipping (including insurance) of £7.90 apply if your detector is not repairable or if you choose not to have the work carried out.

Where you do not wish the detector returned, I will make you an offer for it to add to our stock of parts, or to cover the cost of disposal at an approved waste disposal site.

I cannot normally accept detectors that are completely "mangled", E.g. obscure machines in pieces with a bunch of loose wires, although I may make exceptions. PLEASE contact us first.

I cannot and WILL NOT supply circuit diagrams, but a section on "Build it Yourself" is planned for inclusion in this site SOON!
